Advanced Open Water Diver Course
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course is a certification program designed to help divers take the next step in sharpening their diving skills and knowledge. Whether you have just finished your PADI Open water course, or have been diving for years, this course can help you. The Advanced Open Water Diver Course is a prerequisite to the PADI Rescue Diver Course.
What is Advanced Diver Diving?
The PADI Advanced Open Water course is designed with the flexibility to address a wide variety of diving situations and student diver needs. The course consists of five advanced dives under the instruction of a PADI instructor. Two of these advanced dives are compulsory- the Deep Dive and the Navigation Dive. On the deep dive you will go with a PADI Instructor to a maximum depth of 30m (21m for juniors) and test yourself for the effects of nitrogen narcosis. On the advanced navigation dive, you will learn and practice advanced navigation techniques- both with a compass and without. In addition to these two dives, you still get to pick three. For beginners, the Peak Performance Buoyancy is an excellent way to perfect and advance your buoyancy skills. Further recommended are dives focusing on: drifting, boat diving, fish identification, underwater naturalism, and search and recovery. We also offer enriched air and digital photography adventure dives at an additional cost to cover PADI materials.
How long does it take?
You'll do five dives over the course of two days- or longer if you would like. All our PADI Courses are flexible, so it's up to you. Your course fee includes the PADI Adventures in Diving Student Manual. You will need to complete and turn in a small knowledge review for each adventure dive. After that, congratulations to you, the world's newest Advanced Open Water Diver!
